After the Class: What Happens When You Slow Down
If you’ve recently stepped out of a Soluna session and feel a little different — maybe more spacious, balanced, or a bit emotional, foggy, or tender — you’re not alone.
Our classes move you gently but deeply. Using the five elements — Air, Earth, Fire, Water, Spirit — we guide you through a somatic journey designed to support the nervous system, regulate energy and create space for release. It’s a soft but potent shift. When we stop pushing and start listening, the body begins to speak.
Why you might feel anywhere from elated to exhausted:
In everyday life, we override the body's signals in order to keep up, stay busy and hold it all together. But the nervous system is always responding — to pace, pressure, stress and stimulation.
Soluna offers a pause - a circuit breaker - where we move from doing (autopilot) to feeling. That change can bring things to the surface — resulting in an ‘emotional hangover’. You might feel energised, calm, centred, peaceful, tired, fatigued, more sensitive, or any number of ways. It depends on what you came with, and what you let go of. So all of it is valid and normal!
This is somatic healing at work. The body is processing, integrating and returning to safety. Sometimes that feels amazing. Other times it stirs what has been stuck and waiting to move.
What actually happens in a class?
Each session explores the five elements of nature, to foster balance and equilibrium:
Air helps you to arrive in the room through breathwork and bodily awareness
Earth grounds you through mindful movement, connecting you to your core
Fire builds energy, passion, heat and healthy anger through strength and cardio-based movement
Water counteracts with a cooling effect - through repetitive, fluid movement to release stored emotion
Spirit closes the session with EFT tapping, meditation, bilateral sound and rest
This sequence mirrors how our nervous system naturally operates - moving through sympathetic and parasympathetic states. Only sometimes we get stuck in sympathetic - unable to locate our ‘off button’ - impacting sleep, digestion, mood regulation and more. The Soluna sequence reminds your body to how to move through these states with more ease. Each chapter helps build your capacity to feel, respond and restore. So after class, your body might still be catching up and it can take time to fully integrate.
Here’s what can help:
Drink water to stay hydrated before, during and after class. This will help flush out your system
Eat grounding foods ideally something warm, nourishing and simple
Stay off your phone if possible — less sensory input supports integration
Journal, walk or rest — follow what you feel drawn to
Be gentle with yourself if emotions rise or if you're tired or foggy
Our intention is to hold space while you experience your body, your mind and your energetic state - giving you full permission to move, release and let go on your terms. You get to choose how hard you push and how ‘messy’ you allow yourself to be - whether that be in the class, or after. Your body, your pace, your experience. We are here by your side!
